These projects attempt to make the violin more than just a solo instrument.
I make violin covers of songs, most often in medley format, by:
Arranging the order of songs
Making the instrumental for each song by ear using only my violin, a drum sample pack, and some piano/bass lines to give it some depth
Adding a solo line on top at the end
This is the Tiana medley.
I made this for my beautiful girlfriend to celebrate an anniversary of ours. It includes 18 songs that are special to us (don’t worry, I got spcial permission from her to share this).
This is the Holiday medley.
I made this for fun in December 2020. It includes 8 songs that are staples of the holiday season, and I even shot a video of me recording a solo line over it with a santa hat.
This is my “Industry Baby” Violin Cover.
“Industry Baby” by Lil Nas X and Jack Harlow was probably one of the biggest pop song hits of the decade. I was listening to it one day and I thought that it would be a lot of fun to try to remake it using only the violin instead of all of the brass instruments. And since my violin cannot spit bars the way Jack Harlow can, I freestyled a melody in his place. I’ll link the original song so that you can decide how close I was.
This is the Bop to the Top medley.
I made this medley during the winter break of my first year of college for a friend who had this playlist called “Bop to the Top” which included many pop favorites from the 2000s and 2010s.
